If the parents can continue to treat each other with dignity and respect then that alone will promote dignity, respect and a high self-esteem in their children. The quality of parenting after separation need not suffer on family break down. |

It is important that each parent promote the relationship between the children, the other parent and the extended families of each parent. There is great potential for irreparable damage to the parties and to the Children on marriage break down. This is already a traumatic time for parents and children and a rational, reasoned approach to the resolution of the issues will go a long way to providing an emotionally stable lifestyle for the Children. You must always remember that the Children will no doubt do as you do and not as you say. Set a good example and rise above.
